Northern Healthcare is proud to be opening a new flagship supported housing service for up to 16 people in Huyton this August — and we are looking for an exceptional Service Manager to lead it.
This is a rare opportunity to shape and develop a brand-new service from the ground up, creating a safe, recovery-focused environment that truly transforms lives.
About the Service
Our new development will provide:
15 supported living units - comprising of two pathways for long-term and short-term complex care and intensive support
1 Assessment
Specialist support for individuals with complex mental health needs
This service will play a vital role in supporting people to stabilise, recover and move towards greater independence.
About the Role
As Service Manager, you will have full operational responsibility for the service, ensuring the highest standards of care, compliance, performance and team leadership.
You will:
Lead, inspire and develop the team
Embed a strong recovery-focused and trauma-informed culture
Ensure safe, effective and person-centred support delivery
Oversee assessment pathways and transition planning
Drive quality, governance and continuous improvement
Build strong partnerships with commissioners and external professionals
This is a highly visible and important leadership role within Northern Healthcare.
About You
We are seeking an experienced senior professional with a strong background in complex and challenging mental health services. You may be:
A Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with management experience
Already be the Manager of a mental health unit or service
A qualified Social Worker with extensive experience in complex mental health and management
A senior professional with significant experience in drug and alcohol rehabilitation services
An experienced leader supporting individuals with dual diagnosis needs
Essential requirements:
Minimum 4 years’ management experience in services supporting complex mental health and/or substance misuse
Strong understanding of safeguarding, governance and regulatory frameworks
Experience leading large teams and managing service performance
Demonstrable ability to manage risk in high-complexity environments
Passion for delivering meaningful, outcome-focused support
