Trainer – Learning & Development
📍 Eccles, Manchester (with travel across Northern Healthcare services, including Yorkshire, Cumbria, Birmingham and Greater Manchester)
💰 £30,000 – £35,000 + £3,000 Car Allowance

Northern Healthcare is looking for a passionate and engaging Trainer to join our growing Learning and Development team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves developing people and wants to play a key role in shaping the skills, confidence and knowledge of colleagues working across our mental health services.
In this role, you will deliver high-quality, engaging training that supports our teams to provide safe, effective and person-centred care. From welcoming new starters through our induction programme to delivering essential mandatory training, you will help ensure our colleagues are fully prepared to make a real difference in the lives of the people we support.

What you’ll be doing
Deliver engaging classroom-based and practical training sessions across Northern Healthcare services
Facilitate induction programmes for new starters, including mandatory training
Ensure all training aligns with regulatory standards, organisational policies and best practice
Support colleagues to understand and implement safe, effective and person-centred care
Monitor learner engagement and assess understanding throughout training sessions
Maintain accurate training records and attendance documentation
Work closely with the Learning and Development Manager to enhance training programmes and materials
Adapt training delivery to suit a range of learning styles and professional backgrounds
Promote a positive learning culture across the organisation
Travel to different services to deliver training where required
What we’re looking for
Experience delivering training within a professional environment
Previous experience working within a mental health or social care setting
A recognised teaching or training qualification such as:
Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET)
PTLLS or equivalent teaching qualification
Strong presentation and communication skills
The ability to engage and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds
Excellent organisation and time management skills
Willingness to travel between services as part of the role
It would be great if you also have
A First Aid Trainer qualification or experience delivering First Aid training
Experience delivering health and social care mandatory training
Knowledge of regulatory standards within health and social care
